Undergraduate Students

I regularly mentor undergraduate students who are interested in gaining research experience. Student positions with me are either to learn molecular lab skills or data analysis. I offer in-depth, progressive research experiences and I want students to gain strong scientific skills while working with me. Students who work with me for multiple years typically do a senior thesis project based on their research. I usually recruit students through the URAP program, where I advertise available positions. Students who are particularly interested in my research can email me with their interests and I will let you know if any student positions are likely to be available soon.

I believe in fostering an educational environment where all students can feel welcomed, supported, and included. This necessarily means opposing discrimination based on race, gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, disability, and socioeconomic class. Diverse backgrounds and perspectives benefit both science and society. I encourage students of all backgrounds and identities to apply for research positions with me.
